Guide Lines for Practitioners
Sharing
This is time to share the fruits and difficulties of our practice, time to speak from the heart about our personal experience, and to support each other by mindful, non-judgemental listening.
Mindful Eating Meditation
We eat lunch in silence for the first fifteen minutes so that we can appreciate the food and each other’s company at the same time. After this, two sounds of the bell announce that we can talk and get up to take seconds.
Awareness of eating involves all aspects of the meal. We serve ourselves mindfully, taking only as much as we need. We contemplate our food, becoming aware that it contains the elements of the world around us and that we “inter-are” with the food, with the Earth and with those who helped bring the food to our table.
